What’s Bumpit®?

Fabricated of polyethylene foam, Bumpit® is the first of its kind golf bag bumper, designed to protect cars, walls, and any other physical property from the effects of collision wear and tear.  Loading and unloading golf bags and/or transporting carry bags through loaded parking lots has never been easier.

Bumpit® is designed to encompass the bottom portion of a carry bag, providing a layer of energy and collision absorption, while presenting ample space for branding and advertising opportunities.

About the Inventor - Nate H. Humes, Sr.

Nathan

First and foremost, I’m a proud dad to two amazing boys—Nathan Jr. and Noah—who inspire everything I do. They’re the heart behind Bumpit®, a product rooted in connection, intention, and always paying it forward.

Nathan's sons

Originally from Canton, OH, my passion for golf began early and has shaped much of my life. From a decorated high school golf career to my time as a golf pro in North Myrtle Beach—where I met my wife—golf has been more than a game. It’s taught me discipline, humility, resilience, and the power of community.

Bumpit® was born from that same spirit. It's a patented solution designed for real-life connection—between product and bag, brand and consumer, and hopefully, person to person. What started as a simple fix has evolved into something more meaningful.

While golf has brought me joy, it’s also tested me deeply (yes, I’ve had the yips!). But through it all, I’ve learned that integrity, persistence, and a sense of humor matter most.

Whether you're here out of curiosity or partnership interest, I’m glad you stopped by. Let’s connect—and maybe share a laugh or a round along the way.

Now…pick up, or hit the damn ball! Let’s go!

FAQ

How did Bumpit® come to fruition?

Blending my love for the game of golf, as well as my passion for risk management, led to the creation of a first generation, golf bag bumper. Whether its damage left from guys stumbling through the parking lot hitting cars, or even self-induced damage from blasting my own car while loading and unloading my clubs after yet another pedestrian round, Bumpit® just makes sense! What started as an idea and prototype, has turned into something much more meaningful!

Why is it called Bumpit®?

I kept coming back to the word “thump.” When a bag hits a car or a wall, it gives off a “thud” or a “thump”. Thus, “Before you Thumpit, Bumpit®” was born. Now, I would be the first to admit, the name has taken on a life of its own, and I am not mad at it. Bumpit® is all about connection and paying it forward, so whatever it means to you, it means to you!

How does Bumpit® work?

That is the beauty of this design; you simply slide the bottom end of a “carry” bag into the Bumpit® prototype. It does the rest! Bumpit® was designed for carry bags, as the exposure to cars and other physical property is greater than a cart bag or staff bag, which is usually dropped off at bag drop or taken directly from car to cart, or cart to car. I do, however, fully expect future iterations of Bumpit® to include and have options for ALL bag types. May even expand into other sports, where similar loading and unloading issues exist!

Why is it made of Polyethylene foam?

I aimed to find a material that would absorb contact, bounce off physical property, leaving no physical marks, but also be amenable to screen printing and customization. Settled on polyethylene foam, as it functionally performs like I had hoped it would and has the real estate to add logos, brandings, advertisements, etc. When encountering a car, wall, or anything for that matter, Bumpit® simply bounces right off!
